Color Palette#

The Springpod colour system used across SpringBoard. Use these tokens consistently — never hardcode hex values in your code or AI prompts without referencing this page first.

Primary colors#

These three colors define the Springpod brand. They appear everywhere — navigation, buttons, headings, and interactive elements.

Springpod Teal

  • CSS variable: --color-sp-teal
  • Tailwind class: sp-teal
  • Use for: Primary brand color, buttons, links, accents, active states

Variants:

  • Dark: #0A8F93 (sp-teal-dark) — hover states, pressed buttons
  • Light: #9CF6F6 (sp-teal-light) — subtle backgrounds, highlights

Springpod Navy

  • CSS variable: --color-sp-navy
  • Tailwind class: sp-navy
  • Use for: Primary text, headings, dark backgrounds

Variants:

  • Light: #2D3B5E (sp-navy-light) — secondary text on light backgrounds
  • Dark: #0f1a38 (sp-navy-dark) — deeper backgrounds, dark mode surfaces

Springpod Blue

  • CSS variable: --color-sp-blue
  • Tailwind class: sp-blue
  • Use for: Secondary accent, interactive elements, informational callouts

Secondary colors#

Supporting colors for variety, warmth, and emphasis. Use sparingly alongside the primary palette.

Orange

  • Tailwind class: sp-orange
  • Use for: Warm accent, highlights, decorative elements
  • Dark variant: #D46A51 (sp-orange-dark)

Red

  • Tailwind class: sp-red
  • Use for: Alerts, warnings, destructive actions
  • Dark variant: #C80B1E (sp-red-dark)

Purple

  • Tailwind class: sp-purple
  • Use for: Tertiary accent, variety in content cards

Neutrals#

The gray scale handles all the supporting visual structure — backgrounds, borders, secondary text, and disabled states.

TokenHexTailwindUsage
Gray#E4ECF7sp-graySubtle backgrounds, card fills
Gray Light#EEEEEFsp-gray-lightLighter backgrounds, alternating rows
Text Secondary#5C6682sp-text-secondarySecondary body text, descriptions
Text Muted#8B92A6sp-text-mutedPlaceholder text, disabled states
Border#B9BEC9sp-borderBorders, dividers, outlines
Surface#E9E9EDsp-surfaceSurface backgrounds, hover states

Status colors#

System feedback colors for confirmations, warnings, informational messages, and errors. Each has a light variant (for backgrounds) and a dark variant (for text and icons).

StatusLightDarkUsage
Success#BFF3A5#357E10Confirmations, completed states
Warning#FEE3AF#8C5E03Cautions, pending actions
Info#C2E1FF#004A8FInformational messages
Error#f8b5bb#820D19Errors, validation failures

A success message would use #BFF3A5 as the background and #357E10 as the text colour. This gives enough contrast for accessibility while clearly signaling "all good" to the user.

An error message would use #f8b5bb as the background and #820D19 as the text — immediately recognisable as something that needs attention.

Gradients#

Four branded gradients for decorative use — hero sections, banners, and visual flourishes. Do not use gradients for text or small UI elements.

NameValueUsage
Teal gradientlinear-gradient(225deg, #40D5D5, #09797B)Primary decorative, hero sections
Blue gradientlinear-gradient(225deg, #A1B2EB, #446DF6)Secondary decorative, feature cards
Orange gradientlinear-gradient(225deg, #FFEF5E, #F7936F)Warm accent, promotional banners
Red gradientlinear-gradient(225deg, #FA919B, #C80B1E)Alert emphasis, urgent callouts

Dark mode#

Colors adapt automatically via CSS custom properties. The primary brand colors (teal, navy, blue) stay consistent across light and dark modes. Layout tokens — backgrounds, borders, and shadows — switch to their dark variants when the user toggles dark mode.

You do not need to define separate dark-mode colors when building with SpringBoard's design tokens. The system handles it.

Usage guidelines#

How to use these colors

  • Always use token classes (text-sp-navy, bg-sp-teal) instead of raw hex values in code.
  • Reference this page when building tools to match Springpod's visual identity.
  • When using AI tools (Lovable, v0, Replit), paste the hex values from this page into your prompts so the generated UI matches our brand.
  • Accessibility: Ensure sufficient contrast between text and background colors. Use dark variants on light backgrounds and light variants on dark backgrounds.
